Matteo Granziol is an Italian Location Manager based in Dubai, with more than 14 years of experience in the UAE film and production industry. Since beginning his career in Dubai in 2012, Matteo has worked across feature films, television, reality shows, documentaries, commercials, photography and events, managing locations for both international productions and major regional and global brands. His feature film and television credits include Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, Gran Turismo, The Amazing Race, Pathaan, Love & Hip Hop, Top Gear, Richard Hammond’s Big, Dream Deals and a wide range of international productions from the US, UK, Europe, India and China.
As a Location Manager, Matteo oversees the full location process from initial research and scouting through negotiation, permitting, preparation, filming and wrap. His responsibilities include liaising with government authorities and Film Commissions, managing private, government and semi-government locations, coordinating HSE requirements, logistics and operations, and supervising location and unit teams on set.
He has extensive experience working with major international and regional clients, including Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Chanel, BMW, Coca-Cola, Nike, Apple, Emirates, Dubai Police, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, Aldar, Miral and Dubai Holding.
Matteo also has specialist experience in underwater filming operations, having worked as an underwater coordinator and managed underwater location requirements on production sets.
Originally from Treviso, Italy, Matteo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature and Philosophy with a focus on Cultural Tourism Planning and Administration from the University of Padua. He is a qualified PADI Divemaster and holds professional First Aid, CPR and AED certifications. He is currently undertaking the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC), including IGC2, further developing his professional expertise in occupational health and safety and HSE management.
With extensive local knowledge, a strong network across the UAE and an international production background, Matteo combines creative location scouting with the practical, logistical and operational expertise required to deliver complex productions safely and efficiently.
